Managing your pain is an important part of healing. When you’re in the hospital, your doctor may prescribe medicine to help you feel better. Tell your doctor or nurse if you’ve had a reaction to pain medicine in the past, you don’t want more pain medicine, or you don’t want any at all. They can work with you to find other ways to make you more comfortable.
Talk to your care team about what options are available and safe for you. And work with your doctor to make a plan to manage your pain after your hospital stay.
Continue for up to 10 minutes. If you start to feel out of breath, return to your normal breathing.
